The lens should be in 'as new' condition and free from any signs of cosmetic wear. This includes no marks, scuffs, scratches or dust to the glass elements.
very Good

The lens should be fully functional with very light cosmetic signs of use. Optics should be free from scratches and marks. There may be a small amount of dust inside that does not affect imagery.
Good

The lens should be fully functional and may show minor cosmetic wear. Optics should be free from scratches and marks. The lens may have dust inside that does not affect imagery.
Poor

The lens will be well used and have obvious cosmetic signs of wear. or discoloration to rubber. Lens optics may be scratched or marked and the optics may have dust that may effect the image.
